Students Named to the 2017 All-North Dakota Academic Team

​Congratulations Taylor Nelson and Mikayla Whiteley on being named to the 2017 All-North Dakota Academic Team yesterday in Bismarck.
Nominations are based on outstanding academic performance and service to the college and community.
“Taylor and Mikayla are two great, well-rounded students who we felt represented WSC extremely well,” stated PTK Advisor, Maren Furuseth. “They are both incredibly active on campus and still maintain an outstanding GPA. They deserve this recognition.”


Halliburton Donates to College’s Petroleum Department

Five Halliburton tools worth an estimated $42,000 dollars were donated to WSC’s Petroleum Department late last semester. Welding students under the direction of Tim Delorme, WSC’s Welding Instructor have built a display for the tools.

Andrew Eis, Halliburton’s District Service Manager for Completion Tools, provided Gerald McGillivray, WSC’s Petroleum Technology Instructor, with the background of each tool donated.


Wanda Meyer, NDUS Award Recipient, Recognized at Legislative Showcase

Wanda Meyer, WSC’s Associate Professor of Mathematics and Title III Project Director, was honored at the state capital, Wednesday, March 29 as part of the Higher Education Legislative Showcase for her work demonstrating innovative use of technology in the delivery of classroom instruction.

Meyer, began teaching the fall of 1982 has been integral in incorporating ALEKS, an alternative learning technology tool, into WSC’s Mathematics program.
